Are Your Medications Causing You to Be Fatigue?

There are quite a few medications that can cause fatigue.

  • Antihistamines

  • Antidepressants

  • Anti-anxiety medications

  • Antihypertensives (blood pressure medications)

  • Statins (cholesterol medications)

  • Steroids

  • Muscle relaxers

  • Anti-seizure medications

  • Beta-blockers

  • Prescription pain medications as well as opioids

If you suspect that medicine is causing your fatigue, discuss it with a healthcare provider and The healthcare provider may recommend a few things:

  • Taking the medication at a different time of day,

  • Establish bedtime rituals,

  • Recommending medications to help you sleep or they can

  • Provide alternatives for that medication.

Don't just stop your prescription medication without speaking to a healthcare practitioner (unless you are having a severe reaction)- there are usually alternatives.
