HISTORY: Native American medicinal herbs were used for varying purposes by different tribes.

Considered Uses
Respiratory: Cough, cold, flu, runny nose, sore throat, sinusitis
Gastrointestinal: Stomach upset/cramps, nausea, gas, ulcers, constipation, gum inflammation, toothaches, antimicrobial (mostly gram-positive bacteria)
Genitourinary: STI (gonorrhea, syphilis), menstrual cramps, vaginal candidiasis
Musculoskeletal: Arthritis, gout, joint, and muscle pain
Neuro: Headaches, sedating effects
Skin: Skin infections, wound healing, disinfectant, wound healing, athlete's foot
Immunity: May enhance immune response
Cancer: Possibly slows the growth of certain cancers
Other: Tuberculosis, diaphoretic (causes sweating), STDs
