HISTORY: Used for several hundred years by Indigenous people for medicinal purposes


PROPERTIES: Antihelminthic, antibacterial, antiviral, anticancer, expectorant, decongestant, antiinflammatory

Considered Uses

Respiratory: Cough, bronchitis, tuberculosis (TB) symptoms, asthma, runny nose, whooping colds, laryngitis


Gastrointestinal: Indigestion, diarrhea, gas, bloating, colitis


Genitourinary: Menstrual cramps


Musculoskeletal: Muscle aches, gout


Neurologic: Headaches


Skin: Rash, psoriasis, acne, eczema


Mental Health: Sedative properties, stress, anxiety


Cholesterol: My help lower


Immunity: Helps increase immunity


Cancer: Possibly helps protect against cancer


Infectious Disease: May help inhibit TB


Other: Supplies minerals: calcium, magnesium, zinc
